Attending a Meeting

Hi guys, long time no see. oh yeah Ramadan al Mubarak for all Muslims around the world. so lets get to the point. This time I gonna share about attending a meeting, just like the title. before start, did you know definition of meeting? A meeting is when two or more people come together to discuss one or more topics, often in a formal or business setting, but meetings also occur in a variety of other environments. Many various types of meetings exist (Wikipedia). There is many types of attending a meeting

1. First of all, if you a Newcomer in a meeting
  •   introduce yourself (ex: say your name, say your job description, say what your rensponsibility)
  •   if you are the only one secretary for example use "the" and if there are several secretary use "a"
2. Second, if you gonna give a suggestion 
  • there is so many words to make a suggestion just like "we ought to give a new rewards", "we might want to...", "I think we should..."
  • "have to" and "need to" can give about obligation such as "we have to improve...", "we need to add some..."
  • oh yeah, make a suggestion think about the effect too
3. Agree with a suggestion
This is optional things to do, if you agree with a suggestion from other people so many ways to reply such as "I agree with....","That's a good idea", "let's go with this idea"

4. Disagree with a suggestion
Then if you disagree with a suggestion from other people but don't wanna hurt another colleagues just answer like this "to be honest, I am not sure....", "good suggestion, but I see few problems....", "I see your point, however...." after say like that tell your point of view too

5. Asking a question
Every meeting mustn't be everyone understand what chairmeeting says or another colleagues says, so this is how to ask some question in a meeting "pardon me, I didn't understand your last words can you repeat once again?", "I have a question, why is...?", "How...?", "does this mean....?"

6. Asking Clarification
Similar like asking a question but this more to a misunderstanding that have to clearance to the topic, so this is how to ask it "I didn't understand....", "can you elaborate on....?", "can you clarify...?"

7. Making Offers
Next making some offers, so this point will tell you about offer something. Making offer always use "will" like "I will call the director, I'll tell the results next", "I'll discuss it with rest of my team", "I going to....", "I can....", "I could...."

8. Refusing politely
So if you can't do a some job just refuse it politely such as "I am afraid, I can't...", "I am sorry, but I can't do....", "unfortunately, I won't be able...."

Hello fellas back again, so in Friday, June 19th 2019. My group listening a conversation about a new database maybe(?). the conversation involved between presenter, manager, and staff (I don't know exactly the staff, it's looks like so many). The Presenter explain about a new costumer database / application for make a reservation room, because the old system little bit slow, difficult, and outdated. So, there also has a bad news because the manager and the staff need to training again for adapting from old system and new system. Presenter said it's a lot easier and simple. And the database connected to online booking. Oh yeah, i forget the meeting was held at Hotel Office because the presenter "Make a Reservation for a Room"

From the Listening, the conversation consist 4 persons, 2 women and 2 men. They have a meeting about movement in a company, 3 persons reported about what happened along that time. The first lady reported if the company ready on schedule because it was under control. Then the first man reported if the structure department already under control, but the second man said had a problem because difference opinion from two-camp. So, they think the solution for that problem. Although, he (second man) have a plan to hold a small meetings or a coffee time. Because, from coffee time they will come informal and develop some relationship. Than the manager ask the second man "how long will it take to involve all the staff?" he said "have seven or eight sessions, on the end of month". Then the second man said need Buckler's key people to discuss about his plan and make all staff assemble, The manager would happy if all people have any ideas and share it to anyone. The manager ...

Today, Miss Ning Class. We listening some conversation that consist of 2 people. The Hotel Manager and The Engineer from IKEA or something, and the conversation was via phone call. The Hotel Manager looking for a services equipment for hotel, but there's unavailable in Switzerland. Although, The Manager called the nearest services engineer, it was Italy. She a.k.a The hotel manager have a problem with the fitness room, because the fitness equipment was outdated around 10 years ago also get a comment from the hotel guest. She want update the fitness equipment for 5 hotels and adding a new equipment for 3 hotels, total 8 hotels. The services engineer ask her the budget for a new equipment or services, she tell him because she said the engineer must come to the hotel to know the budget itself. The engineer accept it because he have to meet the client in Zurich around January 30th. So, the engineer want to arranging a meeting with the hotel manager.
